DIG Collective hosted a series of residencies, performances and events responding to and sited in an 8sq metre cubic hole dug into the large garden of the Old Rectory in Hackney Central, a property slated for imminent demolition and redevelopment.

This 'pop down' project space, rich in symbolic narratives, was a unique place in time to explore relationships between past and future, located between the dry administrative mechanisms of planning and the ritual exhuming of earth, between natural space and urban development and between history and myth.
